District Magistrate warned the Executive Officers for not knowing about the schemes

Chamoli: District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari of Chamoli, district of hill state Uttarakhand, held a meeting of all the Executive Officers on Thursday, regarding Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), PM Swanidhi, solid waste management and door-to-door garbage segregation works.

For not having complete information about the schemes, the District Magistrate reprimanded the Executive Officers and strictly instructed them to work in public interest with a positive work style.

DM Chamoli, directed that all the Executive Officers should personally supervise the cleaning work in their city area every day. Solid arrangements should be made for garbage management in the city area. Cloth bags should be prepared through self-help groups for the elimination of polythene. This will prevent the use of polythene in the municipal area and women groups will also benefit.

He also instructed the Executive Officers to hold a public darbar (camp) in every ward of their city area and listen to the problems and resolve them on priority basis, and make a list of the assets of the body, rent should be collected by imposing fine on those shops and houses from which rent is not being deposited. Anti-littering Act and challan action should be taken against those throwing garbage and spreading dirt at public places. After verification of the hawkers, they should be given the benefit of Swanidhi Yojana. Ensure immediate completion of work of houses under construction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Ensure removal of illegal encroachments on the roads and streets of the city area. The proposed construction work in the city areas should be started immediately. Public toilets should be cleaned regularly.
