Two dead bodies discovered out of ten missing into debris of cloud burst incident.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari and Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar visited block Nandanagar’s village Kuntri Phali, Sera, and Dhurma on Thursday and inspected the disaster area. They talked to the affected people, gathered information about the disaster, and expressed their deepest condolences to the victims, assuring them of all possible assistance.

Late at night Wednesday, due to the heavy rain, cloud burst above the villages mountain of block Nanda Nagar and huge debris covered many resident houses and many people and animals went under the debris.

Sandeep Tiwari, District Magistrate Chamoli has directed the officials to present on the spot to immediately reopen the blocked roads, shift the affected families to relief camps, and ensure adequate arrangements for food and drinking water. Relief camps have been set up for the affected families of village Kuntri, Laga Phali at Saiti Primary School, Maria Ashram, and the Supply Inspector’s Warehouse. The Tehsil administration is arranging camps for approximately 25 affected families of village Dhurma and approximately 12 affected families of village Sera.

Bhim Singh 55, Kamla Devi 60, and Sachita Devi 53, along with eight others, were flown to Dehradun by helicopter for treatment.

Relief and rescue operations are being carried out at a rapid pace in the Nandanagar disaster-affected area. Tehsil administration’s team, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, police, and PRD are continuously present at the scene. MLA Bhupal Ram Tamta, District Panchayat President Daulat Singh Bisht, SDM R.K. Pandey, Tehsildar Deepshikha, and officials from various departments were present during the relief operations.
