Severage and drainage work must be reviewed by geological experts-DM.

Chamoli: DPR (Detailed Project Report) a detailed review meeting, Thursday, prepared for the drainage and sewerage system under the reconstruction and security works of Jyotirmath city area was held in the VC room of the District Magistrate’s office.

District Magistrate, Sandeep Tiwari chaired the meeting and directed that before starting drainage, sewerage work and protective construction work at block Jyotirmath area, the report of geologists and related experts must be reviewed.

He also directed the implementing agency Uttarakhand Urban Area Development Agency (UUSDA) to co-ordinate with the PWD department and work in a planned and phased manner, so that the work of one department does not hinder the work of the other department. The work of sewerage and drainage should be done by communicating with the affected families, local citizens, traders, public representatives and various stakeholders. And to do the sewerage and drainage work with a holistic approach in Jyotirmath, he also directed SDM Jyotirmath to hold a meeting of the implementing agency UUSDA with Army, ITBP and BRO.

Jatin Singh Saini, UUSDA Project Manager said that a detailed DPR has been prepared to ensure drainage, drinking water supply and sewerage system in Jyotirmath city area. He clarified that the DPR prepared earlier by the implementing agency Jal Nigam has been strengthened further by adding advanced studies and site inspection.
