Minister Reviews Chardham Yatra Preparations During Distric Visit.

Chamoli: Gaurav Kumar, District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Surjeet Singh Panwar formally welcomed the Minister-in-Charge, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, who also serves as Minister for Rural Development, Small and Micro Enterprises, Khadi and Village Industries, during his visit on Sunday.

The meeting centred on preparations for the forthcoming Chardham Yatra and travel arrangements at Badrinath Dham. At the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GDMVN) in Pipalkoti, the District Magistrate presented the Minister with a memento of the revered Mother Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra.

Chaudhary also inspected ongoing improvement works along the Badrinath Highway, including sites at Kameda, Nandprayag, Bhanerpani, and Pagalnala. He emphasised the need for alternative traffic arrangements to mitigate disruption caused by roadworks ahead of the pilgrimage season. In addition, he directed officials to devise plans for new parking facilities at Badrinath Dham and other key locations, underscoring the importance of smooth traffic management for pilgrims.
