Alert of storms, Hail and Snow Hit in Uttarakhand.

Dehradun: The weather in India’s hill state of Uttarakhand is set to remain volatile this Friday, with both the mountains and plains bracing for rough conditions.

The Meteorological Center Dehradun has issued a yellow alert for hailstorms, strong winds, and lightning across Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh. Other districts can expect light rain and thunderstorms, while areas above 4,200 metres may see snowfall.

These pre-monsoon showers have brought relief from the summer heat, keeping temperatures near normal. On June 19, plains districts are forecast to remain cooler than usual due to worsening weather.

Thursday, however, was warm and sunny. Dehradun recorded a maximum of 36.5°C, three degrees above normal, while the minimum rose to 24.2°C, one degree higher than average. Similar conditions were reported across the state.

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to stay unsettled until June 24, with heavy rain likely in both the hills and plains.
