Chamoli: On the instructions of chief minister Puskar Dhami, taking an abrupt action, two officers of Jal Sansthan and UPCL have been suspended following the death of 16 people due to electrocution at the sewerage treatment plant of Namami Gange project in Chamoli district on Wednesday. In the preliminary investigation found negligence on the part of both the officers.
Chief General Manager of Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Neelam Garg, issued orders to suspend Additional Assistant Engineer Hardev Lal, who was supervising the works of the company operating the STP plant. He was attached to the branch office at Rudraprayag. At the same time, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) suspended Junior Engineer Kundan Singh Rawat, in-charge of Gopeshwar Power Distribution Division, General Manager Human Resource RJ Malik and attached him to the office of the Executive Engineer.
