Constitution of India is the soul of democracy: Dr. Negi.
Chamoli: A seminar has organised, on the occasion of Constitution Day, at P.G College Gopeshwar on Sunday. Addressing the Constitution Day organized under the aegis of the Department of Political Science, the department in-charge Dr. Jagmohan Negi said that the Constitution of India is the soul of India’s democracy and the Constitution is a symbol of the aspirations of the Indian people.
He further said that the Constituent Assembly consisted of experts and enlightened people of that time and they prepared a good Constitution which is providing direction to the Indian citizens to live even after 73 years of its implementation.
In the seminar, co-coordinator of the District Voter Awareness Campaign and Assistant Professor of the English Department, D.S Negi, said that the Constitution also expects the citizens to express their faith in democracy by becoming aware voters. He appealed to all the students to immediately register themselves in the voter list and discharge their civic duty by voting. The Preamble of the Constitution was read out by program coordinator Dr. Manish Mishra and explained in detail.
