Farmers will get Kharif crop seeds from near their homes.
Chamoli: For sowing Kharif crops(rainy seasonal crops), seeds have been made available in all 39 Nyay Panchayats of the district. This improved variety of seeds will be made available to farmers by the Agriculture Department at 50 percent subsidy.
Chief Agriculture Officer, VP Maurya said that 564 quintals of Kharif crop seeds of Urad, Jhangora, Mandua, Soybean, Ramdana, Sawa, Paddy have been procured, seeds have been made available to the Krishi Investment Centers located in all the Nyay Panchayats of the district. Farmers can take the seeds of Kharif crops from their nearest Krishi Investment Center at the prescribed 50 percent subsidy.
In the district Chamoli have around 53129 farmers are currently registered with the Agriculture Department. As per the demand of the farmers, sufficient quantity of seeds have been procured on time. Farmers can take this seed from the Nyay Panchayat near their home at the prescribed subsidy, he said.
