The agitators have honoured on state Foundation Day at P.G.College.
Chamoli: Twenty-fifth Foundation Day of hill state Uttarakhand was observed with simplicity and enthustically on Saturday 9 November at the Government Post Graduate College, Gopeshwar.
In the program, state agitators Chandrakala Bisht, Dr. Dinesh Sati, Dr. BP Deoli, Sudha Bisht and Uma Negi were honored with shawls and souvenirs.
Chief guest Mrs. Chandrakala Bisht, while sharing the memories of the state movement, asked the students to take advantage of the opportunities being created in the new state.
Principal-in-charge Dr. J.M.S Negi, congratulating to the students on Uttarakhand Foundation Day, said that to make Uttarakhand the best state of the country, equal co-operation of all sections of the society is required.
On the occasion of state foundation day, in the college, in the speech competition organized on the topic ‘Developed Uttarakhand of my dreams’, Nidhi got first place, Anoop got second place and Deepak got third place.
In the poster competition organized on the topic ‘Beautiful Uttarakhand, Excellent Uttarakhand’, Jaswant got first place, Anushka got second place and Anjali got third place.
Special guest state agitator Dr. Dinesh Sati, while sharing his experience of the state movement, said that Uttarakhand State has achieved many achievements in the past years but the problem of empty villages and corrupt practices is increasing. There is still a need to protect land laws, native place and culture.
