District Magistrate chaired a meeting of the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Chamoli, Sandeep Tiwari has reviewed the works being carried out under SARA while holding a meeting of the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority on Thursday.
DM Chamoli, has also instructed to prepare a list of critical water sources on priority basis and prepare DPR. The District Magistrate instructed the Village Development Officer, Village Panchayat Development Officer and administrators to promote the Bhagirath App in the meetings. The District Magistrate instructed to send all the pending schemes under the Forest Department to the nodal SARA due to non-availability of convergence funds and said that the government will make arrangements for convergence.
In the meeting, SARA’s nodal officer Arvind Negi said that under the scheme, 3 schemes of Jal Nigam, 2-2 schemes of Jal Sansthan Gopeshwar and Karnaprayag have been approved for the treatment of water sources. For the rejuvenation of rivers and streams, 7 schemes of Irrigation Block Chamoli and Tharali and Minor Irrigation Block have been approved. Giving information about the work being done under SARA, he said that currently 87 water sources have been selected for treatment in 9 development blocks of the district.
He said that the government is running Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan 2025. In which Bhagirath App has been prepared to ensure public participation for priority setting for the treatment of water sources, through which water sources are to be identified for treatment. Through the Android based Bhagirath App Dhara Mera, Naula Mera, Gaon Mera, Prayas Mera QR code, every citizen will be able to send information about important water sources for treatment in the village. All water critical water sources will be geo-tagged through the app. And Information about water sources will be collected and classified by the State SARA Center and sent to the districts to prepare an action plan for treatment.
