Search Intensifies for Missing Trekker in Dayara Bugyal.

Uttarkashi: Uttarakhand’s authorities are racing against time to locate Babita Pandey, a 30‑year‑old resident of Nainital, who vanished during a trek in the alpine meadows of Dayara Bugyal late at Friday night.
Forest officials confirmed that Pandey, part of a ten‑member group organised by a local trekking agency, stepped out of her tent late Friday night and did not return. By Saturday morning, the agency alerted the forest department, prompting a coordinated search effort involving police, forest staff, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
Range Officer Taknaur, Roop Mohan Nautiyal, said the incident has been formally reported and the remaining trekkers have been halted at Goi Camp for safety. Search teams are combing the rugged terrain, but after three days, Pandey’s whereabouts remain unknown.
The disappearance has cast a shadow over the popular trekking route, with officials emphasising that all resources are being deployed to bring the missing trekker back safely according to information.
