Arts Faculty was the overall champion in cultural programmes in college annual function.
Chamoli: Pro. V.N Khali as a chief guest of the programme, special guests Krishnamani Thapliyal, Naval Bhatt, Usha Rawat, Ankola Purohit awarded the participating students in the annual function Saturday.
Chief guest Prof. VN Khaali said that a person becomes cultured by having an understanding of his culture. In the cultural programme, competitions were organised in the categories of solo song, qawwali, folk dance, folk song and western song. First of all, the contestants took out a cultural tableau from Gopinath temple to the college.
In the competition, Science Faculty won first place in solo song, Arts Faculty in Kawali, Purusharth of art in solo song, Arts in folk song, Science in folk dance and Commerce in tableau.
The faculties participated in these programmes with the names of Chamoli rivers, Alaknanda, Pinder, Dholiganga, Nandakini. In the programme, NCC, NSS cadets and volunteers gave a charming and emotional performance. Students Gaurav and Dheeraj enthralled the audience with their performance in the non-competitive category.
Principal Prof. Kuldeep Negi, while reading the annual report, said that govt P.G College Gopeshwar is moving on the path of continuous progress.
