Covering the distance of about 8km on foot, DM turned up at remote villages to hear public problems.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari of Chamoli, a border district of Uttarakhand, walked about 8 kms to reach village Dumk-Kalgoth, the most remote village of district, and did a field inspection of the new road survey works proposed for Dumk.

He collected information about the basic facilities in the remote village Dumk-Kalgoth and also listened to the problems of the villagers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the villagers have been demanding for a long time to start the construction work of motor road to village Sanji Laga Maikot Bemru- Syun Dumk-Kalgoth.

A large landslide zone was created on the road, due to the natural disaster on which a survey was done earlier to connect village Dumk to the road, because of it is not technically possible to construct a road and bridge. A new survey was mby PMGSY to connect Dumk village to the road and a proposal has been sent to the government for approval of Rs 8.87 crore for road construction.

District magistrate Sandeep Tiwari inspected the proposed realignment area for road construction along with the officials of the implementing agency and the villagers. He gave instructions to speed up the road construction process for the remote village Dumak. Executive Engineer of PMGSY Pramod Gangadi said that road construction work would be started soon after the funds are approved by the government. The villagers expressed happiness over the efforts being made by the district administration for road construction for Dumak and expressed hope that the vehicle would reach the village soon. During the visit, the district magistrate also did a field inspection of the basic amenities and various development schemes in the remote Dumak-Kalgoth village and heard the problems of the local people.

चमोली: उत्तराखंड के सीमांत जनपद चमोली के जिलाधिकारी संदीप तिवारी करीब 08 किलोमीटर पैदल चलकर जनपद चमोली के सबसे दूरस्थ गांव डुमक-कलगोठ पहुंचे और डुमक के लिए प्रस्तावित नए सड़क सर्वेक्षण कार्यो का स्थलीय निरीक्षण किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने दूरस्थ गांव डुमक-कलगोठ में बुनियादी सुविधाओं की जानकारी लेने के साथ ही ग्रामीणों की समस्याएं भी सुनी।

प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना के तहत सैंजी लगा मैकोट बेमरू-स्यूंण-डुमक-कलगोठ मोटर मार्ग का निर्माण कार्य शुरू कराने के लिए ग्रामीण लंबे समय से मांग कर रहे है। डुमक गांव को सड़क से जोड़ने के लिए पूर्व में जो सर्वे किया गया था, उस मार्ग पर आपदा के कारण बडा भूस्खलन जोन डेवलप होने से तकनीकी रूप से स़ड़क और पुल निर्माण किया जाना संभव नही है। पीएमजीएसवाई द्वारा डुमक गांव को सड़क से जोड़ने के लिए नया सर्वेक्षण किया गया और सड़क निर्माण के लिए 8.87 करोड़ धनराशि स्वीकृति के लिए शासन को प्रस्ताव भेजा गया है।
