Cyber trainers made aware of safe use of interne to the departmental officers.

Chamoli: National Informatics Center, district Chamoli, has organized a cyber security workshop on the occasion of ‘Safe Internet Day‘ on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Additional District Officer Vivek Prakash.

The experts have given detailed information to all the departmental officers of the district about safe use of internet and cyber crimes. They also gave information about the primary steps to be taken in case of a cyber attack.

Additional District Officer Vivek Prakash said that at present the Internet has become an integral part of daily life. Banking work along with office work is being done through the Internet. In such a situation, it has become necessary for every person to use the Internet with complete information about the dangers of the Internet and its protection. He told the officers present in the workshop to take seriously the training being given on the use and protection of the Internet and to effectively stop cyber crimes by using the information.

In the workshop, District Informatics Officer Vishesh Chandra said that due to the spread of the Internet, cyber crime has started increasing rapidly now a days. To avoid the cyber attack and safe use of the Internet is necessary. He also told that at the present, banking fraud, investment fraud and other types of cyber fraud are increasing rapidly. In such a situation, it is important to use the Internet carefully. For safe use of the Internet.

DIO Chamoli, Vishesh Chandra asked users to keep different passwords on email, social media or banking accounts, not to make passwords in sequence numbers, install only verified apps from Play Store in mobile, not to use public WiFi without VPM, change passwords from time to time, update software from mobile or computer, and not to click on links coming from unknown sources without information. He said that any facility like online shopping, investment, lucky draw fraud should be used only from verified apps.
