Kusum and PM Suryaghar scheme would be beneficial to the people -DM.

Chamoli: Sandeep Tiwari, district magistrate of district Chamoli has reviewed a meeting of the Kusum Yojana and PM Suryaghar (prime minister solar house scheme) under the UREDA department on Friday.
The related departments were directed by DM to benefit a large number of people from this scheme. He also asked those who applied for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana to install solar plants after selecting vendors.
Under the above scheme, run by the Government of India, solar plants from 1 to 10 kilowatts are being installed for domestic use. The beneficiary will be able to save in the electricity bill as per the capacity, and a good income will also be earned from the additional electricity produced. A total subsidy of Rs 136800 is payable for domestic use up to 3 kilowatts.
For 1 kilowatt, the central government will give a subsidy of 33 thousand and the state government 17 thousand, for 2 kilowatts, the central government will give a subsidy of 66 thousand and the state government 34 thousand. The PM Kusum Yojana i.e. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan Yojana aims to ensure energy security for farmers in India under which financial assistance is given to farmers for installing solar pumps.
Individual farmers will be given 80 percent assistance by the government for installing standalone solar agricultural pumps of capacity up to 7.5 HP for replacement of existing diesel agricultural pumps/irrigation systems where grid supply is not available. Pumps of capacity more than 7.5 HP can also be installed, however, financial assistance will be limited to 7.5 HP capacity. Areas covered under this scheme can be benefited where there is water problem in summer.
Project Officer UREDA Saurabh Kumar said that 51 people had applied for PM Surya Ghar, out of which 3 people have installed solar plants. He also asked the remaining applicants to install solar plants by doing vendor selection.
