Gramothan Project is strengthening the livelihood of women in district Chamoli.



Chamoli: Under the leadership of state Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Gramothan Project in the district Chamoli is strengthening the economy of the villagers.

Through this project 408 women have achieved self employed, and under the scheme in the district, self-employment is being provided to the villagers through various schemes. Due to which the villagers are strengthening their income while sitting at home.

Mamraj Singh Chauhan, district project manager said that under the Gramothan Project, 25 cluster level federations have been formed in the district. Through which enterprises like goat rearing, dairy unit, mushroom production, beekeeping, poultry farming, beauty parlor, sewing center, retail shop, furniture manufacturing, dhaba, restaurant, food processing unit are being operated in rural areas.

The villagers are strengthening their livelihood. He informed that under this project, 53 villagers have been benefited in agriculture based schemes, 55 in non-agricultural based enterprises and 300 villagers under Extreme and Ultra Poor Scheme in the district. Giving information about the scheme, it was told that in the agriculture based and individual enterprise scheme, 30 percent contribution is made by the project and 20 percent by the beneficiary. While the remaining amount is provided through bank loan. With which the rural enterprise can be established.

Manju Devi, a resident of Tangsa village, says that with the help of Gramothan Project, she established a mini dairy enterprise in the year 2024-25 under the Individual Enterprise Scheme. Due to which she has got financial strength. Told that she is earning an income of 18 to 20 thousand by marketing 22 liters of milk from the mini dairy every day. He said that she has got financial strength from the scheme run by the government.

Amita Devi, a resident of Kujaun-Maikot, says that with the help of Gramothan Project, she set up a retail shop in the village. Through which she is currently earning a net income of Rs 10 thousand per month while staying at home. He has described the scheme as effective for strengthening the economy of the poor section.
