Two days rain forcast for hill state Uttarakhand

Dehradun: According to a report, Uttarakhand has experienced the worst drought among the Himalayan states. During the snowy months, mountain villagers yearn for every drop of rain and snow. Distressed by the harsh weather, Chamoli villagers have now performed “Uchhyana” (vows) to pray to gods and nature for rain and snowfall.

According to the IMD, the weather will remain dry throughout Uttarakhand on January 19th and 20th. Western disturbances are expected to re-activate in the state from January 21st.

According to the IMD, scattered rain is expected in the district Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar on January 21-22. Snowfall is also expected at altitudes of 3,400 meters or higher on these two days.

Heavy rain has expected across the state on January 22-23, Scattered rain is expected in five mountainous districts of the state on January 21-22. According to the IMD, the rain is expected to intensify on January 23. The heavy rain is also expected in many areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts on January 23 and 24. Apart from this, there may be rain at some places in other hilly districts and at some places in the plain districts.
