Schools Principal including Assit development officer made accused in illegal cutting of trees.
Dehradun : Forest department has realise the name of the accused, illegal cutting of trees in Chakrata’s Kanasar range. In the forest crime letter issued by the Forest Department, 17 people including the Principal and Assistant Development Officer have been made accused in 21 cases. Some of these people have two offenses against them.
The investigation of the matter has been handed over to the Assistant Forest Conservator. Investigating officer Mukul Kumar has given seven days time to all the accused to present their case. After this the action of attachment will be started. Action is on in the case of illegal felling of trees like deodar and kail in Kanasar range of Chakrata Forest Division.
After the suspension of the Range Officer and five forest personnel, the Forest Department has also initiated action against the accused. Forest department has issued forest offense letter against 17 accused under the Indian Forest Act. On Saturday, Deputy Forest Divisional and Investigating Officer Mukul Kumar issued notices to 17 accused to present their case.
The accused have been asked to reach the sub-divisional forest officer’s office within seven days between 10 am to 4 pm to present their case. At the same time, if it is not presented within the stipulated time period, it has been warned to initiate legal action in the court. In this regard, a public notice has also been published by DFO Kalyani.
