Chamoli: The 71st State Level Industrial Development and Cultural Gauchar Fair concluded on Monday with various cultural programs and prize distribution. The chief guest of the closing ceremony of the fair, former MLA of Srinagar Assembly and former president of BKTC, Ganesh Godiyal, distributing the awards, said that the form of fairs of the hill society has also been a center of attraction in itself and this famous fair of Gauchar is an example of it.
Chief guest Godiyal, recalling the past and present form of this historical fair, he talked about maintaining the norms in future. Chief guest and representative of Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, said that the most legendary Gauchar fair of Uttarakhand has a different history. This fair has given international and national recognition through culture and trade relations to the district Chamoli. They congratulated everyone for successfully organizing the Gauchar fair and giving a new dimension to the fair. Congress District President Mukesh Negi said that the grandeur of the Gauchar fair may have increased but we will also have to pay attention to its quality.
The chief guest has rewarded to the winners, runners-up of cultural, sports and other competitions organized during the fair and the employees and officers who contributed to the successful conduct of the program. During this, the chief guest rewarded the winning team of the football match, Bisht 11 Dehradun with a trophy and a certificate. Besides, the winning and runner-up teams in the games were also honored by presenting prize money, citations and insignia.
