From waste garbage Municipality is earning good income.

Chamoli: By recycling of plastic waste material, the Municipality of Joshimath are making Eco-friendly tables, chairs, benches, almirahs, pots, dustbins, tree guards. An exhibition of goods made from plastic waste was organized by the Municipality on Thursday in the Collectorate premises.

District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana inspected the exhibition. Appreciating this initiative of the municipality, he insisted on making the plastic waste made in more attractive designs. He said that the amount of plastic waste required to make any item should also be estimated. Other bodies of the district should also be included in this campaign so that the bodies can earn good income from it. On this occasion, Executive Officer Bharat Bhushan, SI Anil Kumar and other personnel of the municipality were present.

Joshimath Municipality has earned an income of 86 lakh by selling 10.50 lakh kg of garbage since 2011. After collecting the garbage in the municipal area, the plastic waste is segregated and compacted by the municipal workers. After this, by making bundles of 70 to 75 kg, eco-friendly items like tables, chairs, benches, cupboards, pots, dustbins, tree-guards etc. are being made from Noida. Whose supply has started being done by the municipality. Eco-friendly benches, chairs, tables, dustbins etc. made from plastic waste are being installed by the municipality in parks, roadsides and government offices, people are also liking a lot to it.
