Five medical students have found guilty of ragging at college, expelled from hostel.

Haldwani: Five medical students have accused of ragging at the Government Medical College in Haldwani, and were expelled from the hostel too. The fine of Rs 25 to 30 thousand has been imposed on them, four students are medical and one is of a nursing student.
Anti Ragging Committee meeting was held at Government Medical College Haldwani. The committee recorded the statements of all the students one by one. After this, the CCTV was checked. Other students were also interrogated.
According to a report, the committee has imposed a fine of Rs 30 thousand on the main accused of ragging, a medical student (intern) of 2019 batch, annd expelled from the hostel, and his internship has been extended by 15 days. Apart from this, the intern student, 2020 batch student and PG student who were involved in ragging have been thrown out of the hostel along with imposing a financial penalty of Rs 25,000 each.
Upon the nursing student, a fine of Rs 25 thousand has been imposed. He will not be given hostel in future. Medical College Principal Dr. Arun Joshi said that all the students have to deposit the fine by March 8. Affidavits will be taken from the family members of the five students.
A farewell party was organized for senior students, late Thursday evening at a hotel on Rampur Road. During this, a student commented on the female friend of his senior student. There was an uproar in the hotel regarding this matter. At around 1 o’clock in the night, the said senior student along with his friends reached the junior’s hostel and beat him up. The victim junior student had lodged a written complaint with the college management on Friday morning.
