The works reviewed being conducted under the District Development Authority by DM.
Chamoli: District magistrate has reviewed in a meeting of Development Authority Gopeshwar-Chamoli on Wednesday, in which the applications received for building construction till date, approval and disposal of remaining applications, illegal construction and pending cases in SDM courts were reviewed.
The District Magistrate said that no construction work should be done within the authority area without maps approved from the authority. The Illegal construction on government land should be stopped at the very beginning and illegal construction should be removed, and complete the parking construction works approved by the authority expeditiously, and approve all the applications received in the authority regarding the building map within the stipulated time. Pending cases under Uttarakhand Gram and Nagar Niyojan in the courts of Joint Secretary / Sub-District Magistrate should be disposed of on priority. The action should be taken against the construction material kept on the roadside and in the drains within the authority area. The District Magistrate said that proposals for various infrastructure improvements, beautification etc. should be included in the urban areas in the interest of the public from the funds of the authority.
The Additional District Magistrate informed that under the authority, through the Rural Construction Department, funds have been allocated for the construction of parking under Shaheed Park Band on Chamoli Gopeshwar Motor Road, Chamoli Bazaar, Pokhari Band, Gas Warehouse, Papdiana, Prosecution Complex, Govind Ghat, Joshimath, Pokhari Vishal Khal Junction, Pokhari Godiband, near PWD office in Pokhari and multi-storey parking in Gauchar to Uttarakhand Drinking Water Corporation. In this financial year 2024, the District Development Authority had received applications for 143 maps. In which 88 were of residential buildings and 55 of non-residential buildings. Out of this, 60 residential and 30 non-residential permits have been issued. While 18 are in process, 07 in objection and 28 have been rejected.
