Chief Minister did an aerial inspection of the avalanche incident site at Mana Pass.

Chamoli: Pushkar Singh Dhami, chief minister of Uttarakhand reached Jyotirmath (Joshimath) Saturday morning. He took stock of the rescue operation and met the injured who were caught in the avalanche and inquired about their well-being.
He gathered information about the rescue operation from the District Magistrate. At 11 am, Chief Minister did an aerial inspection of the incident site.
The Chief Minister said that 47 out of 55 people have been rescued. Rescue operation is going on to evacuate the remaining 8 people. Those who have been rescued are being brought to Joshimath. All are being treated. The Chief Minister has talked about giving all possible help to the injured.
The Chief Minister met the workers undergoing treatment in the Army Hospital and inquired about their well-being. He directed the District Magistrate that there should be no shortage of any kind of necessary resources in the search rescue operation, whatever requirements are there should be identified in time.
District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, while giving information to the Chief Minister Dhami, said that an avalanche occurred near Mana Pass on Thursday evening. There are lived BRO’s 57 workers in containers, out of which 2 workers were on leave. ITBP, Army, after a rapid search, have rescued 47 people out of 55 safely so far. 04 helicopters have been sent by the Central Government and the State Government.
With the help of rescue teams, 25 workers have been brought to Jyotirmath so far, out of which 4 workers have suffered serious injuries. They are being treated under the supervision of senior doctors in the Army Hospital.
He also told that full help is being provided by the Central and State Government. The District Magistrate praised the rescue operation carried out by ITBP and Army. He said that the 28-member NDRF team has also reached at the spot. They have a lot of experience in the way rescue operations are being conducted, the remaining workers will be rescued soon.
Rescue operation update
District magistrate, Sandeep Tiwari have informed that 50 workers have been rescued so far, while 5 people is still searching by ITBP, Army and NDRF’s joint team.
