DM reviewed construction works at Hemkund route through VC.

Chamoli: District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana, chaired a meeting of the infrastructure development works being conducted on Hemkund Yatra Marg through VC on Thursday. He directed the executive body to make sure to complete the remaining works at the earliest by deputing sufficient number of laborers for the construction works, being carried out on the Yatra route.

Regular monitoring of the works conducted on the travel route should be done by deputing junior engineers. For the convenience of the passengers, complete the construction of benches, signage, passenger shed, stone set pavement, shed on horse stops and other residual works on the pedestrian route. The rescue helipad in Hemkund Sahib and shed construction at ‘Hoarse Stay’ should also be expedited and all works should be completed before September.

Superintending Engineer, PWD Rajesh Sharma told that from Pulna to Ghangaria kilometer 0 to 9, railing and stone set pavement, rain shelters at various places on the pedestrian path, construction of both parking lots in Pulna and Pulna-Ghangaria diversion work has been completed. Improvement of mode on footpath, repair of railing and surface, construction of passenger shed and shed at Ghoda Padav, installation of benches, signage, kilometer and hectometer stones at Hemkund Sahib will be completed by July this month. Along with this, the construction work of rescue helipad is also in progress, which is being done as soon as possible.
