The Chief Minister has inspected on site work at railway station under the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project.

Chamoli: Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has conducted on-site inspection of the works of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project operating in Karnprayag, Sevai of district Chamoli on Saturday.

He inquired to the officials of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited in detail about the works being done at the railway station, infrastructure facilities and the progress of the project, and he also met the workers playing their important role in the project and also got their well being. Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of Devbhoomi, the Chief Minister said that in the field of infrastructure development, the Prime Minister has given many gifts to the state of Uttarakhand.

All types of facilities along with traffic in Uttarakhand are included due to all-weather road, air connectivity and construction of rail lines, after the construction of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line, the four dhams of Uttarakhand will be connected with rail connectivity.

Rail project officials said that the length of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project is 125 kms, including 16 tunnels and 12 stations, are being built. A target has been set to complete most of the work of this project by December 2026. The railway station of Karnprayag is being built at Sevai near Karanprayag. The 6.3 km scape tunnel from Bhattnagar to Sewai at Gauchar has been braked on December 25, while the 6.2 km main tunnel will be braked in the coming March2025. Now only 695 meters of work has left on the main tunnel, on which work is going on from both sides. Rail project officials told that the work of a road bridge and a rail bridge is also in progress under the project in Sevai.
