Under the foods adulteration safety campaign, a case registered against six shopkeepers.

Dehradun: The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department has registered a case against six shopkeepers, in a special campaign launched against adulteration of food items on the Chardham Yatra routes.

On the Badrinath, Kedarnath and Yamontri route, so far, 325 shops have been inspected and 155 samples have been sent for testing. Apart from this, 500 samples were tested with a mobile testing van on the Badrinath-Kedarnath Yatra route. Mobile testing vans will be run on the Gangotri and Yamunotri Yatra route.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the campaign against adulteration on the Chardham Yatra routes is going on. Teams have been formed under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Garhwal Rajendra Singh Rawat and samples of food items being sold in hotels, restaurants and dhabas on the Yatra routes are being taken and tested. Health Secretary and Commissioner Food Safety Drug Administration Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar gave strict instructions to the officers that negligence will not be tolerated in the campaign.

Tajbar Singh Jaggi, Additional Commissioner Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, said that a special campaign is being run in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli districts. A strict legal action is being taken against shopkeepers selling adulterated or expired food items on the Chardham Yatra routes.

The department has issued toll free number 180018042 for information about adulteration. If any person gets information about any kind of adulteration or expired goods being sold, then he can register his complaint on the toll free number.
