Many vehicles went under debris due to heavy rain.

Chamoli: Many private and public vehicles were buried under the debris due to a heavy rain fall around 4 AM, near Negwar Gopeshwar district headquarter of Chamoli, on Thursday. The local people reached on spot and informed the municipal administration and disaster management but neither any officer or even a employee turned up over there, local people accused.

The iron nets installed on the National Highway Badrinath-Kedarnath road are causing the disaster, and in the past also the municipality and NH were informed by the local people, yet the nets were not removed from the road, the local alleged on administration. It’s notable that this disasters occurred in district headquarters, and administration was informed by the police and the local people, but even after 3 hours neither any Officers nor employees reached at the spot, the local said.

There are such situations in the district headquarters at the time of disaster, then it can be easily guessed what would condition be of the people of far off rural areas living in odd geographical conditions of Chamoli district during the disaster.
