Fuel Crisis Sparks Chaos amidst in Chamoli’s Chardham Yatra season.

Chamoli : In the district of hill state Uttarakhand, India, is facing a severe petrol and diesel shortage right at the peak of the Chardham Yatra pilgrimage. The crisis boiled over in Joshimath, on Monday, where frustrated pilgrims erupted in anger at a local petrol pump, blocking the national highway in protest.

Pilgrims claim they were assured in Rishikesh that fuel would be available further along the route to Badrinath, but supplies have dried up across Chamoli and Rudraprayag, leaving thousands stranded and journeys disrupted.

Shockingly, officials appear unreachable in the mid of the crisis. District Supply Officer Ankit Pandey reportedly ignored repeated calls about fuel availability, despite strict instructions from District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar that all officers must remain accessible during the pilgrimage season.

The silence from authorities has only intensified public outrage, raising serious questions about preparedness and accountability during one of India’s most significant religious events.
